Tim Burton is set to direct Alice in Wonderland, Burton will also produce the adaptation, which will use both live action and performance-capture animation.
“The stories are like drugs for children, you know?” Burton said. “It’s like, ‘Whoa, man.’ The imagery, they’ve never quite nailed making it compelling as a full story. So I think it’s an interesting challenge to direct.”
Burton’s Wonderland is part of a new two-picture deal with Disney, both pictures will be shown in 3-D. After “Alice,” Burton will helm and produce “Frankenweenie,” based on his 1984 short cult film about a pet dog who is brought back to life by his loyal owner in a very unusual way. The film will be shot in stop-motion animation.

Went to Orlando this weekend to visit my best friend Christina. She works as an animal trainer and Fear Factor stunt coordinator at Universal. We went to Islands of Adventure first for some rollercoasters and then we got a fun backstage tour where she works. We also got to play an orangutan! I can’t believe I was able to sit there and tickle and play rough with a 70lb female orangutan. Pictures soon, I promise!
Now I am back in Gainesville and working on my 2007 tax return.
