That's a Circus Life

Hubs just left for his trip up to Virginia. Sadly I couldn’t join him like originally planned to help cut down on expenses and help save for our trip to Chile. I am okay now, but I know the next 4 weeks are going to suck. Good thing I plan on going to Miami for a month to be with my family and have some much deserved me time. Work on getting my fitness routine back and make some additional monies to help closings move faster.

I’m going to miss him, but I have to remember that he needs to do this not just for income, but for himself as well. I wish I could see his performance debut, but I am sure there will be other times. I know he is going to rock it out in his performances and that his flying trapeze tricks are going to rock the crowds of Virginia Beach and Floyd Fest.

This is a small taste of what could possibly be our future. Circus life seems so crazy and amazing all at the same time. I can’t imagine what life would be like on a train or anything like that. Whatever comes I’ll be ready to roll with the punches and be ready to join him in whatever adventure he desires to take.

Wish you the best of luck my love, see you for my birthday :)

Ok bipolar weather patterns, you can stop now. I think we got enough rain this week, so you can just stop randomly coming and going now. PLEASEEEEEEE

EP Rant

Dear EP,

You are one of the most inconsiderate asshole bitches I have ever met. The fact that I have been trying for SIX MONTHS to find you a rental and tell you to meet up with my boss at certain times, and you are constantly late, but of course its never your fault!

Remember that one morning my boss drove all the way to Ft. Lauderdale at like 10am and your inconsiderate self called me TEN MINUTES BEFORE THE APPOINTMENT to cancel because you were buying a car!

How about that time my boss went all the way back over there at like 8pm at night only for you to cancel because you had to make up hours from your vacation time, that you knew you had to do, but just forgot to call me.

Oh, and how about today, when I worked ALL NIGHT long on your appointments and you are at a Weight Watchers meeting that started late and you can’t make our original 10am appointment, thus shoving everyone else off the queue because you are an inconsiderate bitch. You know what time your meeting was, you knew what time you where meeting with us, why in the hell agree to my 10am appt text message if you are at Weight Watchers knowing you will be late!  You are not going to gain a couple of pounds by not going to Weight Watchers to make your realtor’s appointment.

I should have dropped you MONTHS AGO. You are the rudest British person I have ever met and I can’t stand how pompous you sound over the phone. I don’t care if you were an ex bunny. Right now you are a working class mom who needs to have a reality check and realize you owe me like $5,000 for all the trouble my boss and I have gone through to end up NOWHERE with you. All the gas, time, energy and time away from our families cannot be compensated by half a months rent in commission, you twat.

I am super super super pissed off at this lady. I cannot believe her. Its always an excuse after excuse as to why she is late. Why can’t you just say, “hey Ally, I have such and such going on at this time do you think we can meet at this time instead?” WTF is so hard about that? Why waste your realtors time like that? I just don’t get how people are this inconsiderate and think that by offering us lunch it is going to make things better. I wouldn’t have lunch with her even if I was starving. And the way she says goodbye to me on the phone is so annoying, “okay Ally, buh-bye now, buh-bye” and this really annoying accent. I normally love a British accent, but hers I can’t stand!

The fact is that we make our money only when a sale is officially signed and done with. Aside from that we make NOTHING. The time and effort spent trying to find properties for people is all done free of charge in hopes that we get the sale and make that commission. With rentals we make HALF month’s rent. So if we are able to get under contract a rental for $1500 we only make $750 - definitely does not cover a 6 month span of gas bills and other expenses that go into traveling for a client.

AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH

I feel better now!

Who Played

Snood back in the day? Damn I loved that game, I was sooo addicted to it in college while I lived all alone and was emo :/ all the time. The lil Snood Faces and noise that made cracked me up.

Camping with Toddler

The hubs and I are embarking on a month long roadtrip up the East Coast of the US this summer. He has been contracted to fly on the trapeze and perform two other acts. This is the first time he will get to perform as a paid flying trapeze artist, I am very excited and proud to see all of his work paying off. Instead of missing this epic and special moment in his life I have decided to tag along with him as well as bring our daughter. Now, we have places to stay for the drive up, staying at a summer camp before we get to Virginia Beach, have a hotel to stay at as well while there. The only time we will NOT have housing provided for us is when we go to Floyd, Va for Floyd Fest.

At this point since it is so close to July almost every place I’ve checked has full occupancy during the time of the festival. There are other larger hotels but they are 45 mins away and knowing my husband he will not want to do all that unnecessary driving. I don’t blame him either as we will be spending money on a room and then on all the gas from driving back and forth.

Our option is to camp, but I’ve never REALLY camped as I was raised in Miami…not to many places to set up tents unless it was in our own back yard. This worries me a little as I have no previous camping knowledge ESPECIALLY with a 2 year old! We where thinking about just camping out in our van for 3 days as its spacious and will probably be more comfortable than sleeping in a tent. But as I am mulling over the details of this camping expedition I think more about how Iliana is going to react to all this. I am sure she wont care but having a messy baby with no electric or running water nearby may prove to be a little tricky.

I want to ask the Tumblr parenting community for any tips/advice you can give a family of new campers. We can get a tent no problem, as I think would be a cheaper venture then trying to find a hotel to stay at within reasonable distance from the festival.

What kind of things should I bring along for myself and my daughter? I know about First Aide kits, water, diapers, etc. I just want to make this experience as comfortable as possible for both us and Iliana.

Any advice is truly and greatly appreciated! I’ve tagged this with Floyd Fest as that’s where we will be, so any info on the festival will be nice too as I’ve never even been to Virginia ever in my life. I am anxious and excited to do this as a family, but a little worried that I won’t be prepared enough for my child.

I’ve activated my Disqus so leave a comment porfavor!!!!!!!

Dearest Iliana,

It has been one hell of a trip so far and you are only 2! Things started off a little rocky and there was a lot of moving around, but we are finally settled in a little nook of our own. We are so blessed to be able to raise you and provide for you and your father and I hope to continue to do so for many years to come. In these short two years you have made such a wonderful difference in my life. You bring so much laughter and sweetness into everything you do, it’s incredible!  I wouldn’t trade ya for the world, even when you are having your diva moments. You have learned so much in such a short time your little brain amazes us daily. You have fully grasped the concepts of Spanish & English and can speak and understand in both languages. You’ve been eating on your own, walking, running, tumbling, swimming and even TRAPEZE-ing - YOU ARE FEARLESS! You make your daddy so proud with your acrobatic abilities and love for yoga and circus.

Mommy and Daddy love you more than you can possibly know right now. We can’t wait to share the world with you in the next couple of months as we go off and explore some more of America and in the fall South America. I know the next couple of years are going to be a roller coaster of emotions for both you and I, but I promise I will forever love you, no matter what!

Happy Birthday Baby Girl!!

<3,

Mommy

I Can't Stand

When people knock on my door like they are the police! WTF is so darn important that you have to bang on my door so hard. I’m in my bedroom working on the phone with a client and my heart is beating so fast because you insist on banging louder. First its the Jehovas Witness people coming to drop off pamphlets, then some random thug looking guys (complete with pants down their ass) knocking asking for someone that obviously DOESN’T live here. STOP BANGING SO LOUD! I hear you, I choose not to answer. GO AWAY!

On the Horizon

I love when my mom calls me in the morning all giddy with awesome news! We thought we had to cancel our plans to go to Chile this year due to some personal reasons, but tickets have dropped about 300$ and we can fly during our independence month, which is flipping fantastic! I would love nothing more than to celebrate in Chile eating empanadas and drinking red wine like its water! I’d get to see the family, take a billion beautiful photos of Valparaiso and introduce my daughter and husband to my roots. This is going to be an incredible journey! The second half of 2012 already looks exciting! So much happening in the next couple of months I don’t know how I am going to manage all this excitement.

Nesting

I’ve been so fulfilled with my job lately, it’s amazing! What makes it even more incredible is that I am able to find houses for expecting mamas. I am working with our new client “Mary” and she is 8 months pregnant. She called me today to thank me for being so attentive and thorough to her needs. She said no other realtor paid this much attention to her and she really loved that we turned over rocks to find what she was looking for.

Yesterday she had e-mailed me a property she really loved but was way too high for her price range. She wrote me back to tell me to forget about it, but I did the opposite. I looked in the same area to check if there was anything in her price range and I was able to find two townhomes in the same neighborhood.

My boss went to show it to her yesterday and she fell in love! She couldn’t be more excited and it looks like they will be accepting her contract! Once I know I have a pregnant client I run, jump mountains, move rocks, do backflips for them. I feel like I have to find them a house ASAP and put aside all of my other clients to help them first. I didn’t have my own place when I was pregnant, I didn’t even have a nesting phase because I had no space. I didn’t get to nest for Iliana until we moved out on our own in September when she was already 1.5 (better late than never I suppose). I know exactly what it feels like not to be able to create that cute little space that you so badly want for your baby, so I run for my preggy clients!

Getting this phone call today just validates everything I do on a daily basis. Let’s me know that the time spent working isn’t going to waste and that I am actually making a positive difference in people’s lives. I feel incredible, full of happy air and happy thoughts. Now on to waiting for the short sale process so they can move in ASAP!

*fingers crossed*
